HOW MUCH MISHMOUNTAIN ORIGINALS ARE DONE IN A YEAR: A question was asked this afternoon "How much Mishmountain originals I do in the year" and told her the average is three paintings a year and very few in this world owns one, One thing I do know my next generation will have most of them. It came to point in life the only art style to paint is this and have no heavy intents publically showing them, there stored in crates and too much time wasted explaining them excluding my personal art collectors.

ART COMMISSION REFUSED: 54" x 5 ft. art commission on location would take me at least fourteen years to do and refuse it.

INDIAN RESIDENTIAL SCHOOL ILLUSTRATIONS by MISHIBINIJIMA "Dedicated to my Mother"

COMMENT: Living in Wikwemikong Unceded Indian Reserve my entire life, this allowed me to see great change in my community over decades. My life was taught knowledge in culture and spiritual connectedness.
My mother was a great teacher, every time we sat or daily telephone conversations she commented "What did you do today?" and described to her a painting on process.

She spoke and shared stories that occurred with family and friends inside Indian Residential School over the years saying: "You should paint these events someday" knowing her stories really bothered me.

Few months before her passing and bedridden, one morning we spoke during her birch bark craft making, she told me another story and replied: All the stories you shared about Indian Residential Schools, I feel these are yours because they happened to you.

Her response that morning: "They happened to us" and left it at that.

Next few months admitted into hospital at a weaken state, once again she asked: How's your day going? You should paint one of my stories and there I seen:

My teacher and my mother begged me to paint her life story on canvas, sitting side by side explaining the pain she went through, I felt angry for not seeing it.

Titles that go with Mishibinijima's Indian Residential School Illustrations exactly what I felt "as you're reading them," it's her story and descriptions should not be repeated.

My spiritual mentor was Sam Osawamick, his practice was being a medicine man and well respected internationally and him too shared, Just talk when people are in front of you, each and everyone of us each carry this spiritual light, our spiritual ship into the spirit world.

When some people speak, this light changes into a grey oraha foggy color that's lost inside the light itself, untruthful spirit emerges.

Indian Residential School has this white foggy color each time mother shared a story, I'm thinking screams of hurt falling on deaf ears and very ironic decision makers all new this was happening through documentation.

My older brothers and sister never spoke events and what followed were Indian Day Schools taught by catholic nuns, those places weren't too bad, every now and then just get a strapping.

NOTE
I took upon myself to illustrate Indian Residential School treatment to students, I'll just illustrate titles because you'll " FEEL" what they went through and "No explanation needed."

My illustrations on acid free paper will demonstrate that, " The topic of Indian Residential Schools" should never die because it's part of Canadian history.

I feel it's very important to illustrate this event for future generations as part of Native American legacy in art form, it will be forgotten within a century if someone does not.

Paintings done on acid free paper will be set aside as the original digitally documented and be sold separately, art collectors on both sides remark this project should stay together but daily economics trumps concerns. " Life itself must go on ."
